Sarakkalvilai is situated at the outskirt of Nagercoil town, kanyakumari District in Tamilnadu state. It is a place where people are living with the peacefulness of village and with the style of town. In its south are greenish paddy fields and coconut orchards. The kottar channel in the south divides Sarakkalvilai from the neighboring panchayat. Also it is the boarder in its south & east. The west of it is Vallankumaranvilai and Irulappapuram is in its North. About 1500 People are living here. Nearly 80% of the People are working as Coolies (Engaged in building construction as helpers, beedi rolling etc.), farmers, small businessmen etc.. Among the remaining 20% People there are Govt. employees, landowners, businessmen and small building contractors. The male and female population is in equal proportion here.
